Suicide Prevention Training Program-2022

Suicide awareness training Program to Faculty of Health-Care Sciences Academic staff, Eastern University of Sri Lanka. 

JMFOA-Canada partnered with the Suicide Prevention India Foundation to deliver Training on Suicide prevention and awareness training to the Academic staff of the Faculty of Healthcare sciences, Eastern University Sri Lanka.

This QPR USA Institute-approved program is delivered through one of its training partners, the Suicide Prevention India Foundation.

50 Academic staff trained in Questions, Persuade and refer (QPR) Gatekeeper training and two Lectures taught to become a trainer for the future session in Sri Lanka.

Suicide is one of the challenging issues among the population, and these pilot projects in the Medical Sciences Academic may help to train more medical students and other University students in future.

Discussion with Eastern Health Leaders - 2021

JMFOA Canada president,  had a meeting with the BMA ( Batticaloa  Medical Association), Dean, Eastern Medical Faculty,  and other Health Leaders in Batticaloa to explore the possible way to support  the Eastern Province.
