Eastern Province Health Initiative 

July 4th,2023 - Meeting at Faculty of Healthcare Sciences, Eastern University, Sri Lanka (Eastern Medical Faculty) with the Dean-Jaffna Medical Faculty, Dean-Faculty of Healthcare Sciences, Eastern, Acting Vice Chancellor- Eastern University, RDHS- Batticaloa, Teaching Hospital Representative, Head-Eastern Community Medicine and Primary Care, President – JMFOA, Chairman- CANE and many local champions. Explored how the Jaffna Medical Faculty, Alumni, and CANE( Cancer Aid North and East) extend support and expertise to the East to uplift Health and Health education.
We agreed upon
1. Expansion of CANE to the eastern and continue Cancer Prevention and other support to the East.
2. Research collaboration and Knowledge sharing with Both Faculties and developing connections internationally. 3. Health City development and expansion of Primary care division in Eastern University.
4. Initiative support for the Alumni Association in Eastern.
